Align Graphic & Fix in Desired Position with Masking Tape |
Step 1
On receipt of your decal it is best to ensure that the graphic is firmly pressed down onto the application paper making sure that there are no air bubbles between them, as this can affect the application. Every effort is taken at our premises to ensure decals are in pristine condition prior to delivery, though sometimes due to atmospherics, the decal can lift from the application tape. Seconds spent now can save minutes and more money later !!! |
Cut Between Lettering & Logos Where Possible on Large Graphics for Easier Fitting |
Step 2
Wash the surface that you wish to apply the decal to with a weak solution of washing up liquid and cold water. Please note that the surface must be clean of any wax, oil or greasy residues or grit before applying. Depending on the surface to which the decal is to be applied, it may be advisable to wipe the surface with white spirit first. NB. Please test white spirit on a concealed area of the surface to ensure no adverse reaction takes place. |
Peel Away the Backing Paper Carefully & then with a Gentle Tug, Remove It |
Step 3
If you think you may need help aligning the graphic to ensure it is straight, a good tip is to mark out where you want your graphic with masking tape and use it as a guideline. On very large scale graphics, tape over one end of the entire graphic whilst the backing & application paper still in place using masking tape to ensure it remains where you want it on your vehicle. Now with the help of a friend, lift up the untaped end & remove the backing carefully until you are able to pull it free from the taped end of the application paper. Have a friend hold the untaped end of the application paper whilst you lay the graphic down, smoothing it onto your vehicle from the taped end a bit at a time.
